How To Update Samsung Galaxy Tab A T555 To Android 7.1.1
Galaxy Tab A 9.7 SM-T555 is the first Samsung tablet to receive
the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. The OTA update is now being rolled out for
different European countries and will be released worldwide soon. Now, if you
want to install this new update on your tablet manually, read on the steps from
this tutorial.
Requirements
Before getting started, you should meet some requirements
first:
- Back
up all important data and files of your Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM-T555, as the
process will delete all your important data.
- A
computer and an original USB cable are necessary for the update.
- Your
computer must be pre-loaded with the Samsung USB driver as it helps you
connect your device to your PC more easily. If not installed, then
you should download and install it on your PC from here.
- Next,
enable USB Debugging as well as OEM Unlock options on your device. To do
this, go to Menu
> Settings > Developer Options.
- Charge
your phone battery to at least 30% before starting the update to avoid

- At
first download the official Android
7.1.1 Nougat file for your Samsung Galaxy Tab A ( download for your region) and Odin
v3.12.zip, here, then
extract both on the desktop of your computer.
- Then
boot your Samsung Galaxy Tab into download mode by first switching off the
phone and then pressing its ‘Volume
Down’ + ‘Power’ +
‘Home’ buttons at a same
time. After that, press the ‘Volume
Up’ buttons after you see a warning message on your screen to put
your device into the download mode.
- Now,
connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable and launch
Odin app.
- The
button-left corner of Odin will display ID:COM with blue color after the
connection is successful.
- Now
click on “AP” section
in Odin and choose the “.tar.md5″ file from the extracted
Android 7.1.1 Nougat folder. Make sure you have already unchecked
the re-partition option
first.
- Next,
click on the “Auto-reboot” and
press the “Start” button.
The update process will take around 10-15 minutes. Wait still your Samsung
Galaxy Tab A to reboot.
